This IS a Drill

Posted on Tue Jun 14th, 2022 @ 7:49pm by Lieutenant Tequila Dreik & Lieutenant Skot Ryder

Mission: 00 -Life on the Line
Location: Sickbay

Skot entered sickbay, PADDs in hand, quickly followed by members of his Tactical team carrying equipment of their own. He took a quick glance around before pointing to one of the unused darkened biobed room, "Get everything set up over there," he called out. One of the nurses came running up to the team as they began to set up the equipment they had brought with them, "Is there something I can help you with Lieutenant?" she asked in a very annoying squeaky voice. Skot looked at her for a long moment while taking a long sip from his newly replaced coffee mug, "No ma'am. Just stay out of our way and let us do our job," and flashed her his all too infamous smile.

One of the gold shirted officers came bounding up to Skot as he had his conversation with the nurse, "We are ready sir." Skot's smile grew, "Excellent!" He walked over to his "headquarters" and looked everything over before taking a deep breath, "Computer give me station wide." The computer chimed the all too familiar sound of acknowledgement, "General quarters general quarters all hands man your battle stations!" Skot shouted into the comm.

What had been an otherwise quiet sickbay suddenly plunged into a hive of chaos. Tiki, who had been napping contently, perhaps nursing the tiniest of hangovers after all the tequila last night at Etan's celebration, woke with a start and a curse. "What the hell!" she shouted as she stood up, stumbling bleary eyed out of her office and into main sickbay. "What the hell is going on out here!"

Skot spun around with a grin on his face, "Ah Lieutenant Driek thank you for joining us." He motioned with his arms to encompass the entire room, "As you can clearly see, it's time for the monthly tactical drill so I will be needing you to report to your battle station and report in for me." He began to motion her over to the rest of her nurses, "Thank you."

"Oh hell no!" Tiki's voice raised above the noise in sickbay. "Get your people and get the hell out of sickbay! This is NOT an approved location for tactical drills, we have patients in here damn it!" She started walking toward Skot. "Pack your stuff and get the hell out of my domain before I call the Captain!"

Skot snickered in response before reaching back for a PADD, "Well Lieutenant Driek, according to Starfleet Tactical Procedures, Section four, subsection A, I do in fact have the authority to utilize any space I deem acceptable for my headquarters during any sort of tactical drill." He handed her the PADD before reaching for a second one, "Also, I had previously spoken to the Captain and received his ok for this location." He let his words sink in before leaning in so that only the pair could hear what was being said. "You have no power here Sparkles," using the name he had coined for her knowing how she hated being called that.

The name 'sparkles' grated at her, irritating her nerves like nails scraping down a chalk board, doing absolutely nothing to help calm the rising rage she felt. She started walking toward him, one step at a time, each step punctuated with a single word.

"I."

Step.

"Don't."

Step.

"Give."

Step.

"A."

Step.

"Good."

Step.

"God."

Step.

"Damn."

The next step had her standing in front of him. "Get the hell out of MY sick bay before I incapacitate your ass and start beaming your crew into bloody space!"

Skot's smile somehow grew even bigger, "Chief Pirez," he called over his shoulder without breaking eye contact with Tiki, "Sickbay reports in. Pack up we are moving."

Tiki growled, her anger not dissipating in the slightest. In fact, the way her hands curled at her sides made it quite clear that she would just as soon punch him in the face as let him just walk away. "If you ever, EVER, pull another stunt like this in my sickbay again..." she threatened. "I suggest, Lieutenant, you sleep with one eye open."

Skot, being the last of his team out the door, turned and flashed one last irritating smile, "Whatever you say....Sparkles," before turning and exiting sickbay.

"Jackass..." Tiki muttered darkly as she turned around, catching the glance of a couple of nurses who had been watching Skot admiringly and giggling to themselves as he walked away. "Get back to work!" she shouted before starting back to her office. "Now!"
